ROVERS V. WANDERERS.
This cup match between- the .two New Plymouth Cricket Club senior teams was played in the Recreation Grounds on Monday, and Was won by the Rovers by 12 runs after an exciting finish. Robertson, Hasell, and Lash batted wdll for the Rovers, and Ligtotband,, Currie, and Mannix for the Wanderers. ' Hasell was deadly with the ball, securing 8 wickets for 24 runs in the second innings of the Wahderera. Braund and Wakelin bowled best for the losers. The Town Band very kindly played some pleasing selections during the afternoon, and the ladies dispensed afternoon tea in a tent kindly lent by Mr Hasell. Scores :— Revers. — Ist innings.
