Fire Brigade Ball.
4 The Fire Brigade's nineteenth annual ball was held in the Theatre Royal on > Monday night, and was very well patronised. The floor was given up to the 1 children until about 9.45, and the juniors seemed to " have a good time." For their dancing, music was .provided by Mrs P. Webster, and Misses Humphries, Yates, and Hursfchouse, while Mr McEinuon Bain 'B orchestra was in attendance later. Iv former years Mrs Goldwater has devoted' herself to the work of superin1 tending the arrangements, but being unable to do so this year, the following ladies' committee was responsible for the excellent arrangements for the evening: — Mesdames E. Dockrill, E. M. Smith, P. Webster, Ryan, U. Yates, Misses Staphenson Smith, C. Jacob, Bobin, Drake, and Ella Hursthouse. The sumptuous supper was provided entirely by private contributions, the supper tables being prettily decorated by Mrs P. Webster and Miss Hursthouse. The ball was one of the successes of the season, and the Brigade has every reason" to feel pleased with the generous support received, showing that the public appreciates the work Of this deserving body. * «
