HER SUCCESSOR PROCLAIMED. RECEPTION OF THE NEW KING IN LOKDOS.

Received January 24. 9.1-9 p.m. London, January 23.— The Prince of Wales, the Dukes of York and Connaught, with Prince Christian, reached London at one o'clock. The crowd quietly saluted, the King gravel/ bowing. The King drove to Marlborough House, and later met the Privy Council at Si James' Palace, where the Lord Mayor and Aldermen were in attendance. The Duke of Devonshire communicated to the Council the death of the Queen and the succession of her son.
Received January 25, 12 55 a.m. Sydney, January 24.— The,- Commonwealth Gazette to-night arintjfiftas that the King was proclaimed at wk. James' Palace, at two o'clock to-day. "'*
