Essex won by 126 runs. Tho innings was a procession. Iredale was caught in the slips iv tha third o^er, one wicket being down for one run. Hill was finely taken in the slips in the fourth over — two wickets for six. There was Eom<:- excitement when Noble was missed in the &lips with his score at four. He had reached 17 when he tried a leg glide off Mead, with a fatal result.
