ENGLAND LIKELY TO ACT ALONE. United Press Association. — By Electric Telegraph — Copyright. Received October 6, 2.30 a.m. Candia, October 5. — Evidence is increasing that the Turkish officers and troops . participated in the pillage of Candia. The British refuse further co-opera-tion with the Turks, Great Britain will probably act alone if the Powers hesitate to compel the withdrawal of Turkish troops.
