Beceived October 6, 2.30 a.m. Cairo, October 5. — Major Marchand declared that he was obeying tbe express orders of his Government, and had not received news for some months. He had been promised supplies of ammunition, but had not received them. T^e Soudanese v troops have been ordered to hold Fashoda and Sobat against all comers. Major-General Hunter has established posts on the Blue Nile as far as Senaar.
