LAND BOARD.

The Jliand Board meeting, held on Monday", was attended by the, Commissioner (Mr 'Strauchon), MesßW Stock, Coutts, and Heslop. Ifae lands applied for since last meeting were as follows :— See 47, block 3, Buiroa, W. Pardon, 13 acres; sec 4, block 14, Ngatimara, G. B. Moir, 200 acres. — Approved. 1 he following applications to transfer weie granted :— O. F. A. Volzke aud K. Volzketo A. Meads, see 5, block 16, Egmoat; F. Hellier to D. F.Hellierand "W. Hellier, sees 7 and 21, block 2, Ngatimaru G. Moir wrote, on behalf of himself and other selectors of seca 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, block 24, Ngatimara, and sees 12, 13, 14 and 15, block 2, Omona, for permission to pledge the "thirds" from those sections for payment of interest on a loan for forming Tututawa Road into a cart road.~-Tbe Board decided to inform the applicants that when the County Council has taken the necessary steps to raise the loan proposed, it will not place any objection in the way. The report of the Hanger on sees 94 and 95, block 10, Ngaire, was again laid on the table. — The s-ictions'will be opened for Bale or selection under part 3 of The Land Act, 1892. The lease of sec 23, blook 11, Mimi, lately held by J. Lloyd (deceased) was declared forfeited, A letter wa,s read from R. A. Bricknell with reference 'to non-residence on sec 13, block 2, Omona.- The Board failed to see in what way ib Can help him. An application from J. Sees 1, 2, 4 to 12, 14 to 19, block 5, town ' of Manaia, were let to I>'. Mourie on a yearly tenancy. The Crown Dairy Company asked that 8B it has been decided to change the site' of the dairy factory at Huiakama Village, (Mangaere) from sec 32 to .sec 33, the same privileges and protection be extended to the Company for see 33 tts were granted for sec 32. A memorial from settlers approving of the exchange was put in. — The application was granted, on condition that the Company relinquish all claims to sec 32 and to improvements effected thereon The section will be weighted with the value of improvements. Ihe Board decided that it cannot accept the surrender of &ec 8, block 11, Cape, as asked by W. A. Corbet, owing to the extreme roughness of Jarid. The offer of R. Barrett (£4 a year) for grazing on sees, 4 and 5, block 2, Obura, in tho Nibo Niho I F. ' """' Ihe Banger reported upon the inspection of 63 sees, comprising an area of 13,957 acres. Value of improvements required, £4853 ; value of improvements made, 111,591. Thirty-one of the selectors are' resident ; 32 are non-resident, most of them, however, being in the first or »econd year of occupation where residence is not necessary. Six have not effected sufficient improvements, and six,- are not residing where residence is compulsory.— The report was adopted, and those in arrear are to bo notified to show cius>e for non-complianre- A recommendation that the .roofing iron on sec 16, hlock-2, Ngatimaiu, be offered to J, Graham at 10a, was also confirmed. The Board then adjourned.
