Prince Bismarck's condemnation of the anti-English policy has considerably moderated the attacks of the German Press on Great Britain. A STRIKE ENDED. New York, September 18. The colliers on strike in Pittsburg, Ohio, Indiana, and Virginia have decided to resume work, a compromise regarding the hewing rate having been arrived at on a basis of sixty-five cents per ton. THE COIiERATNE MJNE RIOT. In connection with the shooting at the Coleiaine mine the Sheriff declares that the strikers were a desperate lot of Poles and Hungarians. They knocked him into a ditch, trampled upon him, and disregarded a volley fired into the air. At they continued to advance ho ordered the officers in self defence to fire upon them. Tho strikers thereupon fled, and it was found that oiScteen had been Suot in the back. Intense national indignation is expressed at the action of the Sheriff, who is accused of losing his head. CESSION OF CHINESE TERRITORY TO GERMANY. Hong Kong, September 11. China has ceded to Germany the port of Tung Yungkow and large territories near Tientsien.
