The Auckland Racing Club have made an addition to their splendid property at Ellerslie, having purchased land through which a portion of the steeplechase is run, the price being £2,500. The land j —as owned by Mr W. Crowthar, M.H.R. j Vedette has left hack company, being nominated for open events at the Hawke s Three of old Carbine's sons filled the places in the A.J.C. Derby on Saturday. The lervices of the standard bred trotting stallion, Albert Victor, will be placed at the services of breeders ia this district this peasou. Albert Victor, by Albert W— ex- Victorine, is a bay horse with black points, stands 15.3, and is a well proportioned stallion possessing bone, substance, and quality. He comes from a fast trotting family, his sire holding a record of 2.20. Further particulars will be advertised in a future issue. F«r the Wellington Spring Meeting on November 24th and 26th the added monay and distances will be the samn as last year. The Exhibition Handicap is rechristened the Wellington Handicap. The Wellington Cap money will also be the same, 500 soys. At Dunedin this (Monday) morning, Judge Williams gave judgment on the argument to quash the conviction of Robert Price for trespass on Forbury racecourse. He held that the warning on Thursday could not apply to the trespass •n Saturday in the same week, and the conviction was wrong.
