ARREST OF BURGLARS. Auckland, September 18. Early on Sunday morning Detectives Herbert and Bailey caught two mem attempting to break into Schischkas-' grocery store, Elliot-street. The men ran, but after a long chase in which Herbert fired at one without avail, both were caught. They gave their namet as Wilmot and Fraser.
SENTENCE FOR PERJURY. Wellington, September 11. W. Morris, who was charged with perjury last sessions during the hearing of tho charge of shooting against Entwistle, was convicted and sentenced to two months' imprisonment.
