Produce.—The grain and produce market .was very quiet during the week. No sales of any importance werq made, and next to nothing taken for <xport except potatoes, which are going away steadily to the North Island. Sydney operations in Californian wheat killed speculation here, and buyers decline to give the prices asked. Holders are firm, believing that the surplus is smaller than is generally thought. Oats are very scarce, especially milling and good short feed. Quotations : —Wheat: Pearl (prime milling), 3a 5d to 3s 6d; millers' mixed lines, 3s 4d to 3s 5d : Tuscan, 3s 5d ; Hunter's, 3s 4d to 3s sd; good seconds, 2s 9d to 2s lOd. Oats —Prime milling. 2s 3d (nominal) ; good seed Tartars, 2s 3d; good stout feed. 2s 2d; duns and Danish, 2s Id. Barley—Malting, prime 3s 6d to 3s 9d; medium do, 2s 9d to 3s; second quality and feed, 2s 3d to 2s 6d. Beans (nominall), well saved, 2s 7d. Pens — Blue Prussians, 3s 9d to 4s ; others, 3s. Flour —Millers quoto roller, £10 ; stone, £9 10s. Sharps, £4 ss; bran, £3 15s ; oatmeal, £12 ; oat sheaf chaff, 47s 6d ; at handy country stations for prime samples. Potatoes : Derwents, 35s to 37s at country stations. Grassseed : ltyegrass — farmers' lots, 29 3d to 2s 9d; mnchine-dressed, to 3s 9d; heavy weights, 4s; Jocksfoot, 2Jd to 3fd; town machine-dressed, 4d to'4Ad; cowgrass, 4cl to 5Jd; white clover, 4d to 7£d; Alsike, 4d to 5Jd.
