FOOTBALL.
The return First Junior Cup match between Star 11. and Inglewood was played on the racecourse on Thursday afternoon, and was witnessed by a fair number of spectators. Mr H. Spurdle controlled the game. Star scored two tries in the first spell, through the agency of Stroud and Webber ;» and McPherson in the second spell kicked a goal for Inglewood. The match, therefore, ended in a win for Star by 6to 4 points. The ground was terribly sloppy, and the rain that fell during the progress of the game did not improve matters. Star 11. are now practically winners in the northern district for the First Junior Cup.
Star 111. met Inglewood 11. at Inglewood, in a Second Junior Cup return match,, and defeated the country team by 23 points to nil.
