STREET NUISANCES.

TO THE EDITOK.

Sir, — Whoever are responsible for the condition. of the streets of this town have certainly little to be proud of. Muddy, badly formed or unformed, badly lighted or unlighted, with either no footpaths or merely the vestiges of what were formerly .footpaths, no visitor can well help observing, and, if he stays long enough suffering from, the want of care manifested. v

Another ' nuisance in which New Plymouth excels any other town I have seen in iliis colony is the number of its vagabond dog 3 which, apparently unowned and cert inly uncared for, \vander about snarling and fighting and in other respects most offensive to those who have not lived long enough here to be callous to such annoyances. I do not know enough of the affairs of the town to saddle the blame on tho right horse, but certainly something should be done to remedy these evils.— l am, &c, Traveller.
