In the Legislative Assembly, on the motion that the Address-in-Reply be adopted, MrVarney Parkes moved to appoint a Select Committee to enquire into the administration of the Public Works Committee. He attacked the Government, both on general and special lines, but the Premier gave an assurance that the matters complained of would meet with complete investigation, and took the sting out of the accusations.
