OPENING OF DRUIDS' LODGE.

The formal opening of a Druids' Lodge in New Plymouth .will take placo on Wednesday night next. Soventy persons have given in their namea for membership, and there is every prospect of the Ledge being opened under most promising circumstances. The death benefits in tSe Druids Order are claimed to be bettor than any other Benefit Society, as in addition to a fnneral benefit of £20 voted by the local Lodge, sixpence per member is levied on members throughout the North Island towards the same object. The Druids will take part in regalia in the procession of Benefit Societies on Thursday night in aid of tho Brunnerton Relief Fund. Intending members are requested to give in at once their names to Mr Sykes or Mr S.J3HI, who will give full particulars. The following gentlemen aro expected to conduct the ceremony of opening the Lodge : - Hon. W. Jennings, M.L.C., of Auckland, and Major Purnell, of Wanganui ; aud ton other members of tho Grand Lodge of Wanguuui.
