MIDLAND RAILWAY ARBITRATION.

THE COMPANY'S OBJECTIONS TO PROCLAMATIONS. [per press association."] Wellington, November 30.— At the Midland Railway Arbitration caso th* examination of Mr Wilson was concluded and Mr Allan Scott* examination in «iief taken. Cross-examination was heard this morning, after which an adiourntnent was made for the day. Sir Robert Stout left for South thiseveniug, and will be ab«ent three or four days. In his absence- Mr H. Gully, will have charge of the case for the Crown. Wellington, December 2. -~ This morning Mr Harris, solicitor for tho Midland Railway Company, filed a list of proclamations objected to by the Company aa not made in accordance with the terms of the contract. Tha li"t includos all except eight of the reserves made by the Government for mining purposes. With r<3ga?d to Block 54, Nelson 1 District, the Company does not dispute that a great portion of the block is required for gold mining purposes, but says that the northern portion of the surveyed allotments, containing 380 acres, and containing valuable deposits of coal and au arecv covured with valuable timber, is improperly included within the area oi such block.

Mr Blake said he would not at present object to evidence buing toudured with regard to the mining reserves, but wh,ca it was tcudered hu would require argiimeut, aud his view now \vas that th« would not receive such evidence. On the question of ijxiia Jdcs on the pure of the advisers of tho Crown, he would not now express an opinion, but would accept evidence.
