MESSRS NOLAN TONKS & COS STOCK REPORT.
Messrs Nolan, Tonks & Co. report: — At Eltham, on 19th inst., there was a good muster of cattle, and the sale was characterised by keen competition for all classes, more particularly young steers. At Hawera, on the 21st inst., we had a very large entry. Bidding throughout was spirited, and with very few exceptions everything was disposed of. We quote^ — At Eltham — Yearlings, mixed, 31s to 36s 6d ; yearling steers, 36s to 44s ; 18 months steers, 50s to 55s ; yearling heifers, 32s to 345; 2-year heifers, 45s to 47s ; 2£ year quiet heifers, 54s ; store cows, 53s to 60s ; springers, 80s to 90s.
At Hawera — Yearling steers, 38s to 45s ; mixed yearlings, 32s to 38s ; 18 months steers, 52s to 55s ; 2-year steers, 57s to 65s ; 2i year steers, 72s 6d to 80s ; 3 year steer 3, 80s to 90s ; 3 year forward bullocks, 96s to to 101s ; yearling heifers, 35s ; 18 months to 2-year heifers, 44s to 60s ; 2 J year heifers, 52s to 55s ; store cows, 56s to 63s ; forward cows, 66s 6d to 70s ; fat cows, 86s 6d ; springers, 80s to 90s ; dairy cows, 97s to 110s. Sheep — Hoggets. 9a 4d to 9s 7d ; ewes andlamb3, 11s 8d ; cull ewes and lambs, 7s 2d ; 4 tooth shorn sheep (fat), 9s.
