A dray loaded with wood crashed through the »mall footbridge at the back of the Alexandra Hall this morning, tho horse and dray bringing up in the bed of tho creek. A pretty wedding was solemnised in tho Wesleyan Church on Wednesday afternoon, Mr Maynard Katnson, third son of Mr J. R&mson, of Te Henui, being united in the bonds of matrimony to Miss Minnie Hoskin, second daughter of Mr* Hoakin, of St. Aubyn-street. Tho Hey. J. H. Gray officiatei The bridesmaids were Misses Hoskin, Itarrnon (2), and F. Foots. Mr G. Ramson was groomsman, and Mr Giddy, the uncle of the bride, gave her away. Mr and Mrs Ramson left on a honeymoon trip to Auckland the same night. The Mutual Improvement Society opened the session on Tuesday night, when a social was given in the Liardet•treet schoolroom. There was a large attendance, and a very pleasant evening was spent. Vocal numbers T\ere contributed by Misses Drew and Hursthouso, Mrs Clarke, and Mr Andrews; Miss Ahier gave a recitation, and Mr Wiggins a reading; nnd two orchestral pieces were contributed by Miss Gibson and Messrs O. F. and F. W. Richmond.
