AKTJRA RACES.
The following ara the results of the Akura races held near Masterton on Thursday last : — Handicap Hurdles. — Oddfellow, 1 : Pikihuia, 2 ; Giraffe, 3. Dividend, £2 11s. Second Hurdles.— Tricky Jack, 1 : Komin, 2 ; Tirarua, 3. The first and second horses were protested against, and it is not yet settled. Bracelet. — Brookfield, 1 ; Makomako, 2 ; Fresh Deal, 3. Won by a head. Dividend, £2 17s. A.C.- Handicap. — Vain Glory and Makomako ran a dead heat. Fifteen started, and as the totalisator is only a 14-horae one, Vain Glory and Bangor were bracketed. Dividends, Makomako, £13 ; Vain Glory and Bangor, £2 18s. A protest by the owner of Silent Friend was not entertained. Maiden. — Rangitatau, 1. Dividend, £4 Bs. Owing to darkness coming on the last two events were postponed until Friday jnorning.
