New Youk, Augnst 19. — Tlio miners of Ccal Creek, Chalanooga, tin ice attacked tho Militia, who openod firo with gatling guns, killing many. It. it rumoured that tho miners have captured a Colonel, and threaten to lynch him New York, August 20. — A largo forco was 6ent to rescue Co'onel Anderson, decoyed and captured by the miners, and whom it was feared had been lynched.
General Carnes commanded the attacking party who met and defoatcd the miners and rescued Colonel Anderson. Many wero killed on b t.t sides.
Seven railway companies are now involved in the strike in Buffalo, including
all Vanderbilt's lines.
New York," August 27.— General Carnes' victory has virtually closed the miners 1 war.
