Sydney, January 13. " The Government has received frpm London a special report on the English fruit market as a means of absorbing surplus fruit in New South Wales. The demand for foreign fruit in ; England amounts to eight and a-half millon sterling. In the report tho opinion is expressed that while green fruit .would form an immediate trade, tho greatest trade would be in dried and cannedgoods. Sydney, January 14. The harvest in the Gundagai district is Tery poor, and the yield is the worst for years. Counlessea Jersey and Galloway leave for New Zealand on Monday, via Melbourne.
