EDUCATION RESERVES BOARD.
The Education Reserves Board met on Friday. Present : Messrs T. King (chairman), Bauchope, Corkill, and Parris. , Mortgage. — The Board agreed to mortgage of lease of Bee. 65, Manganui district, from Mr W. Milne to Mr Samuel, provided that the Board's solicitor reports on or before Jan. 8, 1892, that all papers are in order and all costs paid. Ccst of Lease.— Mr J. Routley, of the Eltham Road, asked for a refund of £5 4d, being costs for preparing new lease, &c. — The Board refused to refund. Transfer Refused. — The Board decided not to grant a transfer of Mr J. McCutchan's lease of part sec. 22, block .15, Kaupokonui, to Mrs McGlashan.— An ap ■ plication was received from Mre McGlashan, asking to sublet a portion of this Bection, but as the transfer had cot been made to her, and she had, therefore, no interest in it, the Board did not entertain the application. New Leases. — The Board accepted from Mr A. Marsh the surrender of part sec 160, Hua and Waiwakaiho, and decided^ to grant a new one at Is 6d per acre for 21 years, from the commencement of the original term. A similar application from Mr C. Greenway in respect of part sec 160, Hua and Waiwakaiho, was agreed to upon tho same terms. Alb.rt Road.—Mr J. Hall, of Albert Road, wrote asking for a reduction of rent, or to grant him a new lease at a lower rental.— The Board decided that they could not entertain the application, but that tho Board would accept an immediate surrender if the lessee is not satisfied with his holding. Next Meeting. — It was decided lo hold the next meeting of the Board on Friday, January Bth, at 10.30 a.m. Tarurutangi. — On the tenants of sec 25, Tarurutangi, surrendering their present lease, the Board will grant a new lease on tho same terms as those granted to others. The Board adjourned.
