HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

The annual meeting of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was held on Wednesday. Present: Messrs J. Bellringer, F. H. Brett, Wordsworth, Davideon, Price, Lepper, Kyngdon, Adlam, T. Elliot, and Heslop. Chairman. — Mr Heslop was voted to presi c— Mr Price moved, " That Mr J. Bellringer be re-elected Chairman." — Seconded by Mr Kyngdon, and carried. — Mr Bellringer then took the chair, and thanked tho members for tho honor they had conferred on him. Meeting Day. — It was decided that the Board meet on tho third Monday in each month at 11.30 a.m. Quorum. — The number to form a quorum was fixed at 5. House Committee. — The Chairman, and Messrs Corkill, Elliot, Lepper, Price, and Kyngdon, were elected a House Committee, two to form a quorum. Legal Opinion.— The Chairman wanted to know in the event of the Taranaki County Council refusing to pay the Stratford County's share of contribution to the Board, what was to be done.— lt was decided that the Chairman * take Mr Samuel's opinion as to the legal position of this Board with reference to Ptratford County contributions. Temporary Mf.lv/. — Mr Elliot was directed to issue temporary re ief to E. Hopkinson, of Waitara, and report on the case at next meeting. Old Men' 8 Home. — It was decided to admit R A. Ashworth, of Munaia, to the OKI Men's Home. Haicera Cottage Hospital. — Dr J. P. Richards was appointed surgeon for tho Hawera Cottage Hospital and Charitable Aid in Hawera District, at tho rate of £25 per annum. PihamO"— The case of D. Barlow, of Pihama, wjill be enquired into.
