INFLUENZA SPREADING. Influenza is spreading both in Scotland and England. PRINCE GEOBGE BETTER. London, November 17. Prince George of Wales is improving, but it is expected that his illness will cause the Princess of Wales to return from Levadia, Greece, where she has been staying for the past fortnight. STEAMER ARRIVED. Arrived : Maori King, from Wellington (September 17). BANQUET TO LIFEBOAT CREW The rescuers of tho crew of the ship Bcnvenue havo been entertained at a banquet in Sandgate. . BOOKBINDERS' STRIKE. The boekbinders employed by Waterlow & Son and Shaw & Sparks have struck, demanding eight hours a day. BARRACKS DESTROYED BY FIRE. The cavalry barracks at Canterbury have been destroyed by fire. The damage is estimated at £10,000. ARGENTINE FINANCES. Buenos Aybes, November 17. The Budget shows a small surplus, but the Minister of Finance states the Argentine is at present unable to resume payment of the national debt. The value of the wool crop is estimated at six million sterling. CANADIAN MAIL ROUTE. Ottawa, November 17. It is reported that the Government of the Dominion will offer a subsidy of a million dollars for fast lino steamers between Canada and England.
