SHELLY BAY DISASTER,

Wellington, April 22. — At the inquest on the victims of the Shelly Bay disaster, the jury found the following verdict: " i he jury find that deceased died from injuries through an accidental explosion of guncotton at Shelly Bay on March 5, but there ia not sufficient di.ect evidence for us to say what caused the explosion." The jury also state that they are of opinion that in this instance no blame is attachable to Captain Falconer, as he was not aware of the circulars • relating to the improved method of loading primers. Notwithstanding the verdict of the jury, Mrs Heighton, widow of one of the victims of the Shelly Bay explosion, has laid an information of > manslaughter against Captain Falconer. The case is set down for hearing on Tuesday. The same witnesses as at the inquest have been subpcenaed.
