WRESTLING.
A WELL MATCHED PAIR. |PER PRESB ASSOCIATION. |
Ddnedin, November ' 18. — Tho second wrestling contest between D. C. Ross, tho American, and Harry Dunn, of Now Zealand, for a prize of £50, took place last night, and furnished the most vigorous wrestling ever witnessed in Dunedin. Dunn won the toss, choosing the American side hold. After forty minutes he gained a fall. Ross then selected the catch-who-catch-can wrestling. This style continued for upwards of an hour, both men being sorely distressed. It looked as if it were a question of physical endurance, when Ross obtained a leg hold, throwing Dunn on his shoulder. The collar ami elbow struggle was continued for nearly an hour, when, no fall being secured, and it being nearly midnight, it was explained that it was obviously impossible to bring the match to a conclusion that night. Tho men decided to commence again next week.
