Adelaide, October 4. | The Strike Committee have written to the Mercantile Marine Officers' Association stating that their action in withdrawing from the Labor Defence Committee removes an obstacle in the way of a settlement of the labor difficulty, and they are now prepared to allow men on strike to resume work on the old terms. Melbourne, November 4. The Board of Inquiry instituted by the Government to investigate the charges brought against Lieut.-Colonel Tom Price, the officer commanding the Mounted Rifles, Rifle Volunteers, and Bifle Clubs, of instructing his men, if necessity arose, to fire low at the strikers, have reported that there is not the slightest foundation in the allegations made. The following is the personnel of the new Ministry: — Mr Munro, Premier and Treasurer ; Mr W. Shiels, AttorneyGeneral and Minister of Railways ; G. D. Langridge, Commissioner of Customs and Chief Secretary ; Allan McLean, Secretary of Lands and Agriculture ; J. H. Wheeler, Commissioner of Public Works; George Graham, Secretary of the Water Supply Department ; A. R. Outtrim, Minister of Mines ; J. G. "Duffy, Postmaster General ; Sir F. V. Sargood, Minister of Public Instruction; J. M. Davies, Minister of Justice ; S. Fraser, A. J. Peacock, and F. Stuart, without portfolios. Sidney, November 4. The Unions in connection with the furniture trade have declined to continue a levy in aid of the strikers, but they will devote the amount of the levy to the relief of the wives and families in distress.
