FIRE IN MOLESWORTHSTREET.

_# _ SIX ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED. The firebells rang out an alarm of fire in the east end at a quarter to 8 o'clock on Monday night, the 'dxa'ct locality of the conflagration being in a six roomed wooden house in Moles worth J street, owned by the Rev Moses Somes Breach, anil occupied by Mr T. Brown, and a cripple, Mr Clifford. At the time of the fire, tho former was away in the country with his stallion, Young Bluelight, and the latter was uttending a meeting of the Salvation Army. The flames fanned by a strong breeze, soon took a complete hold of the structure. The Fire Brigade under Captain Maher soon got to work, to sub due the flames, and quickly got them extinguished, hut not before the building ( waß totally destroyed. The origin of the fire is unknown, but from the accounts of those who were first on the scene it would appear that it originated in a room whore hay was stored. Mr Clifford had left a small firo in the part of the house occupied by him, but the outbreak of fire waa not ut this point of the building. Mr Brown lost a small lot of property in the building, and Mr Clifford also Buffered in this respect. A few things were salvaged. There was no insurance on the building.
