Bank of New Zealand shares have been very scarce, and difficult to obtain, on account of there being quite a rnn on them ; starting at £.; 3s Gd (old issne), they ran up to, and were sold at, £6 during the week, but have receded again, and are now obtainable at about market quotation. There is a slight change in most other leading stocks, mainly Now Zealand Insurance, which aro advancing, with buyers at 69b, while South British have defined-* .6.

sellers at 345. Several parcels of Bank of New Zealand shares have changed hands (luring the week. Union Insurance are wanted. Sash and Door and N.P. Gas are offered at market rate, and Co-operative at a low figure. Money can be placed on mortgage of freehold security at current rete. New Plymouth, May 2, 1890.
