DISTRICT COURT. THIS DAY.
Friday, May 2. — Before His Honor Mr District Judge Kettle. LIARDET V. HEWES. His Honor gave judgment in this case at half-past 10 o'clock. Mr Samuel appeared for plaintiff, and Mr T. Hutchison for defendant. His Honor found that the defendant had not shown sufficient care in blasting the log, from which blast the fire ran on to plaintiff's land. Judgment was given for plaintiff for the full amount £53 ss, with costs.
