STEPS AT THE BREAKWATER TRAIN.

TO THE EDI! 01.. Sir, — I was glad to see a local in your paper calling attention to the want of stcjis on passenger trains at the breakwater. This appears a trilling matter, and so it is to those of us who wear " trousers," but I have noticed that it is a serious inconvenience to ladies when getting in and out of the trains, and one that could be easily avoided by having small light square wooden stools on the wharf, and which arc placed .it tho steps of tho railway earr'age I when it stops. This is done at the Onchunga wharf, and is duly appreciated by the ladies. Why not here ? Trusting that your notice will remedy the evil, I am, &c, Travelled
