TOURISTS AND MOUNT EGMONT. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, — While in Auckland recently I called at Cook's Tourist Oflice to do a little pardonable blow about Mount Egmont, the Falls, ami scenery, with n view of inducing them to give publicity to the matter by descriptions and views in their Tourists' Guide, &c. They were quite willing to do so, but said it was premature at present, as there was not tho necessary accommodation for tourists, who as a rule liked to travel in comfort and without too much exertion; but that when the work now in hand was completed, viz., widening the track and erecting an accommodation house, they would be lire parcel to devote attention to it. — I am, &c, J. C. Davies.
