ANNUAL MEETING OF BOROUGH COUNCIL.
THIS DAY. The annual meeting of the Borough Council was held at noon on Wednesday. Present: The Mayor (chairman), Messrs Bellringer, Small, Dockrill, and Govett. Election of Representatives. — Messrs Bellringer and Corkill were appointed the representatives of the Council on the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board for the ensuing year. — A vote of thanks was passed to Messrs Bellringer and G. J. Newman, the members for tho last year. Cricket Grouul — A letter was received from Mr Orboll, secretary of New Plymouth Cricket Club, asking the Council to allot them a cricket ground in the Racecourse Reserve. The ground required was the piece used as a cricket ground formerly, and situated opposite the site of the old grandstand. — The letter was referred to the Reserves Committee to report on at next meeting, the Town Clerk being instructed to inform the club that they can use the ground temporarily. Tho Council rose.
