HEAVY FLOODS IN MIDDLE ISLAND Lvvercargill, Novemcr2G. The heavy rainfall has- caused floods in the country, and the crops are damaged in some quarters. Portion of the ballast on the Riverton line was carried away. Through the flooding of the Oreti River, the low-lying lands adjacent to the Aparima, Mataura, and Oreti rivera were submerged to some extent.
