HOSPITAL AND CHARITABLE AID BOARD.

The Hospital and Charitable Aid Board mot on Wednesday. Present: Messrs Bollringer (chaiman), J. Eliot, Malonc, I. Bayly, Prk-e, T. Elliot, and Hoslop.

An Account. — J. Way waited on tho Board wilh respect to his account, £28 10s, due to the Board for his maintenance in the hospital. He stated he was unable to pay. — CJuestions were asked him as to his position, and it was finally decided in effect that the application for non payment bo deferred for further consideration, it being understood that Mr Way would pay what lie could in the meantime.

Applications for tim*. — Applications for time to pay were received from J. Minchin, T. Boldt, A. McLean, J. L. Vickerj*, C. Harrison, W. Haslett. — Each application was acceded to.

Alloieance. — Gus Kuhts* wrote applying for an allowance oft' his account. — An allowance was granted.

Hawera. —Mr J. R. Lysaght wrote, applying for relief for Mrs O'Brien, of Ilawera. — The matter was left to Mr Bayly to deal with, and report at next meeting.

Clotlies. — J. Alexander made an application for clothes, which was left to the secretary to arrange. Relief. — An application for relief was received from S. Haskell, of Bell Block. — Tho mutter was left to Mr J. Elliot to deal with, as Dr. O'Carroll reported that tho man was ill, and unable to work.

named Hainwright, of Waipuku. — It was decided to ask the police to make enquiries.

Inglewood. — In the case of paying for a child named Wolfsburg, at Inglewood, the matter was left to the secretary to arrange.

JAst of Recipients. — It was decided that a list containing the names and value received by persons in receipt of charitable aid be supplied quarterly to the contributing local bodies.

AuthorlsK'l. — The chairman and secretary were authorised to discontinue the allowance to several persons in receipt of aid after the end of the present month.

Annual Meeting. — As the next meeting of the Board is the annual one for election of chairman, Mr Hkslop moved in effect that the next ordinary meeting should bo held on the first Monday in December at noon. — Carried.

A ccounts. — The following accounts were passed for payment: — Hospital, £122 4s 3d; Charitable Aid, £76 5s Id ; industrial schools, £41 14s 6d. The Board adjourned.
