POLICE COURT. THIS DAY.

Mohday, Septumber 17.— Before O. E. R&wson, Esq., B.M. STEALING A HOBSE, BADDLB, AND BBIDLB. Kaho, a yoang Mnor, appeared on remand, charged with stealing a horse, saddle, and bridle, valued at £2, on September Bth, at New Plymouth, the same being the property of A. V. W. Kirkby. Mr Pardy asked leave to withdraw the oharge of stealing the horse, as be was doubtful if that portion of the charge could be supported. The animal, he stated, had been found tnrned adrift on a road in the Waiwakaiho district. This portion of the charge was then withdrawn, and Knho was charged with stealing the saddle and bridle, raided at £2. Mr W. Carrington interpreted. Accused pleaded guilty to the charge. Mr Pardy stated that there was a previous conviction against accueed for larceny at Waitara abont three months ago, for which he received seven days' imprisonment. Mr Pardy then detailed the circumstances of the present chargr, which have already been published. His Worship sentenced accused to six months' imprisonment, with hard labor, at the same time pointing out that it was fortunate for him that a charge of horse stealing was not preferred against him. He gave him the full term of imprisonment on the larceny charge on account of his previouß conviction. The Court rose.
