Yesterday evening the body of a man, unknown, was found on the Port hills, near Goveinoi's Bay road. He is about 85 years of age, 5 ft. Oin. in height, robust, fair hair and beard. Nothing was found on him to identify him. He was dressed in a dark grey tweed, and the body was naked from the wrist to the knees. From the appearance of tbe ground tbe man had evidently camped under tbe flax bushes close by. DFATH OF HON. MF. MEKZIKB. Invercakgill; August 20. The Hon. J. A. Menzies, M.L.C, and first Superintendent of Southland, died on Saturday at Wyndham, aged 67 years.. The oause of death, is pneumonia, complicated with jaundice.
