INGLEWOOD.

[FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.] October 7, —Mr. G. S. Kennedy, of Inglewood, hue in his garden a zinc case, in which were thrown, about eleven years ago, a quantity of boiled potatoes, apple peelings, pumpkin peelings and seeds. The case had been filled with earth, and musk grown therein. On einpyting the case he found tha potatoes whole, with the skins on them, and as sound as the day they were thrown into it. I saw them, with several other persons. I have several of the pumpkin seeds also in my possession. The case was exposed to the weather for a number of years, as already stated. It is a strange fact. Mr. Fred Carter has finished another oil painting representing the interior of the Tower of London. He has introduced in it Henry VIII., and other persons of rank of the period. It is well framed and measures sft. 3in. by 3Et. I have advised him to take it to New Plymouth and exhibit it. j j
