On Tuesday in the R.M. Court, judgment for plaintiff was recorded in the case, TV. E. Simpson v. Cecil Gardner, claim £4 3s, with costs 17s 6d.
Captain Edwin telegraphed at noon to-day : — "North-west to west and south gale with rain, and glass further rise, and sea heavy.
The man William Bailey, is reported by Sergeant Day to be staying at the house of a relative, named Nelson, at Waitara. The brother of the man has gone to ccc him.
A publio tea took place in the Primitive Methodist Church qn 1 Tuesday night, when a large number, sat down to the tables. Tho viands were supplied by the country members of the churoh, but nearly all belonging to it took an active part. After the tea an ordinary churoh meeting was held, at wb 'b the Rev. J. Glover presided.'
