It is officially announced that an agreement has been arrived at between the British and Canadian Governments to jointly subsidise a monthly mail service between Vancouver's Island and China and Japan. Paris, September 25. ■ It has been ascertained that the persons who shot at and wounded a French lieutenant, at the same time killing a gamekeeper who aoobmpanied him, are keepers of a German estate on the frontier.
