BRITISH AND FOREIGN TELEGRAMS. [telegrams fkom reuter and other ,'SODROES.] THE FRENCH AT THE NEW HEBRIDES London, July 9. Lord Rosebery will question M. Waddington regarding the resumption of the deportation of Recidivistes. His lordship also considers that the reason assigned by France for the continued occupation of the New Hebrides is insufficient, and therefore men-of-war have been directed to remain at the Islands until they are evacuated. The Paris Press are much incensed at Lord Rosebery's inquiring the data on which the French troops will evacuate the New Hebrides. ADELAIDE JUBILEE EXHIBITION. Sir Ounliffe Owen expresses a doubt whether the Prince of Wales will accept the presidency of the Jubilee Exhibition. RIOTS AT CARDIFF. At the riots in Cardiff the police behaved in a most brutal manner, and in consequence 150 persons were hurt. FRENCH MAIL SERVICE. The French Government have resumed their contract with the Mes-sagories-Maritimes Steamship Co. THE IRISH QUESTION. The Marquis ot Hartington has ex-; pressed an opinion that it is necessary to allow Ireland a more extensive scheme of local government than England. THE AUSTRALIAN RIFLE TEAM. The Australian shooting team in practice is shooting above the average of the team that won the Kollapore Cup last year. DEATH OP A BAPTIST MINISTER. The death is announced of the Rev. Joseph Parbury Chown, minister of the Bloomsbury Baptist Chapel, London. ADVANCE IN TALLOW. Australian tallow, fair average quality, has advanced 6d per owt. Beef tallow is now quoted at 245. 6d, and mutton at 265. 6d. per cwt.
