Dr. GILBERT, THE PHYSIOGNOMIST AND HUMORIST.

He comes with credentials of a very high order, and the press whereever he has been has been loud in his J praise. The following are a few notices of the press :— The New York Sun says : " Dr. Gilbert is justly considered tbe greatest living physiognomist."— The Melbourne Age considers Dr. Gilbert's lecture a masterpiece of logical clearness and eloquence. For two hours and a half he held the packed audience of more than two thousand people as if entranced. — The Sydney Bulletin speaks of Dr. Gilbert as an American humorist who' is entitled to rank with Mark Twain, Josh Billings, and Max Adeler. — The New YorJe Independent (. H. Ward Beecher'a Paper) says, " Dr. | Gilbert is a thorough gentleman, conscientious and correct in all his readings of character and tho advice he gives, and not a particle of humbug about him. Would you know and improve yourself go and consult him." — The Danhury News gives what a lady said of him : "He is too funny for anything. — Referring to his homour, the Brisbane Daily Telegraph says, " Dr. Gilbert can be very funny without descending to the low or vulgar." It is very evident that when such papers as those we have quoted speak so highly of Dr. Gilbert that his lectures are well worth attending.
