[per united press association.] A deputation from the New Zealand Rifle Association waited on Mr. Bryce this morning asking that the Government grant should be increased to £1000, so as to allow the value of the prizes to be increased. The deputation mentiono 'l that the future meetings would be peripatetic, and probably the next would bo h< Id at Dunedin. Mr. Bryce replied that lie could not at present give a definite answer, but would bring the matter before the Cabinet, lie intimated, however, that in the event of the £1000 being granted he would not sanction any further grants by the Government in aid of the purchase of tents, &c. i
