AUSTRALIAN TELEGRAMS. [reutkb's telegrams.] THE COMET VISIBLE. Melbourne, June 15. The comet was visible here shortly after sunset yesterday. In the Legislative Assemhly last night, Mr. Francis submitted a resolution, setting forth that the proposed remission of taxation, as announced in the Treasurer's Budget, was inconvenient and undesirable in view of the improbability of there being any surplus at the end of the present financial year. Mr. Francis declared that he did not intend that his resolution should be deemed a vote of want of confidence in the Government. Sir B. O'Loughlin moved the adjournment of the debate, and the Honse rose.
