[telegraphed by our correspondent.] October 12. — A debtor named Francis Williamson will reach New Plymouth gaol today. He was the landlord of the Maim I aid Hotel, but was sold outlast March, owing £500 to Mr. Duncan McGregor, and £100 to Mr. S. Taplin, storekeeper. Willamson disappeared, trying to evade the service o£ summons, and was taken into custody only yesterday morning, by two constables who surprised him at a cottage in the bush, on his mother's property, near Waitotara, and had a severe struggle with him in his night clothes. He struck one constable with a bottle, inflicting a severe wound, and he broke one pair of handcuffs. He is now to be made a bankrupt, as he has property.
