Produce. — Butter (fresh), Is. 5d.; salt bntter, Bd. to 10d.; eggs, lOd. per dozen ; bacon and hams, provincial, 7d. to lid.; Canterbury ditto, 101. to lid.; potatoes, Canterbury, £4 to £4 ss. a ton ; Hobart Town seed potatoes, £8. Fodder. — At the Haymarket on Friday (August 20) fodder ranged from 2s. to ss. per cwt.; straw, Is. 6d. per cwt.; damaged oats, from Is. 3d. to 15.7 d.; oats, 2s. 3d. and 2s. 4d.; aaize, 3s. 3d. and 3s. 4d. the bushel? potatoes, £4 ss. the ton.

Horse Stock. — Messrs. Hunter and Nolan report that no noteworthy alteration has taken place in horses ; hacks, £6 to £16 ; light harness, £13 10s. to £23 17s. 6d.; medium draught, £22 10s. to £30.— At, the Haymarket horse stock were in moderate number and dull of sale ; heavy draught brought from £30 to £35 ; strong active omnibus horses, £17 to £25 each.

Hides, Skins, Sea. — At the Haymarket sale on Tuesday (August 24) hides were in limited nimbers and at late values ; skins in full numbers and good enquiry; full-woolled skins brought from 3s. 9d. to 4s. lid. each. Cattle, Sheep. &c. — Messrs. Hunter and Nolan report dairy cows and stores as last week. The beef pens were crowded, and prices ranged lower than last week, 28s. to 80s. per lOOlbs. There were large supplies of sheep from the Bast and West Coasts, and a considerable reduction from last week's prices resulted ; wethers, 19s. to 235. 6d.; mixed gexes, 12s. 6d. to 18s. — Mr. Buckland reports ♦hat at Papakura on Wednesday (August 25) there was a good muster of well-bred cattle, and a steady demand for 2 t© 3-year-olds ; steers brought from £4 10s. to £6 55.; cows, from £6 7s. 6d. to £7 ; yearlings, £3 to £3 188. ; calves, 375. to 435. each. — At Remuera on Thursday (August 26) dairy cows and store cattle, particularly cows and heifers, were dull of sale, but no well-bred stock were yarded. Fat cows were in full number— lß2 head yarded— many heavy-weights; the prices ■were lower than last week by about 3s. per lOOlbs., but were steady throughout the sale at 80s. for ship-borne cattle ; provincial cattla ranged from 30a. to 345. per lOOlbs. Sheep were abundant, about 1000 being penned ; prices were lower than last week, the amount realised beinff 3Jd. per lb.; at this value there was steady competition. The first lambs offered this season occasioned considerable competition ; prices ranged from 14s. to 265. each ; thirty were sold, and those were received by ship from the Bay of Island. Store sheep were dull of sale, and brought low prices. Not many pigs yarded ; small-aired porkers in demand at f om 18s. to 30s. each. CHRISTCHURCH— Yesterday. \ Produce. — Although the prices . recently quoted are fully maintained, the grain market may be said to be in a languid state. Farmers do not seem disposed to realise upon wheat, even at advanced rates which have recently taken place. Wheat in prime milling order is worth 4s. to 4s. 2d. per bushel ; several enquiries for seed wheat, which is saleable at 4s. 3d. to 4s. 9d. The demand for oats has improved ; first-class bright milling are obtainable at Is. 6d. to Is. 7d. per bushel ; feed kind at Is. 3d. to Is. 4d. There is enquiry for first-class malting barley at 3s. to 3s. 3d.; inferior qualities are in excess of demand. Potatoes have fallen since last week, and the stock held by farmers is heavy. The present rate is not likely to be maintained ; in prime condition they are quoted at £1 to £1 2s. fid. per ton. For rye- grass seed there is a fair demand, and clean samples are offered at 2s. 9J. to 3s. Butter is in good supply at Bd. to 9d. per lb., with slack enquiry. Cheese is offered freely, at 4d. to 4£d.; hams and bacon are quoted at 9£d., with easier feeling. Live Stock.— The supply of both cattle and sheep was good, but on the latter there was a drop in price equal to Is. 6d. per head. Prime beef is quoted at 245. per lOOlbs.; mutton, 2£d.; the pigs brought forward were cleared at la3t week's piices. DUNE DlN— Yesterday.
