THE GENERAL ELECTIONS.
NOMINATION FOR GREY AND BELL, The nomination of candidates fov tho Grey and Bell District took place at noon to-day, at the Court-house. There was a large attendance! of olectors. The Returning Officer (Mr. ('. E. Rawson), having read the writ, requested the electors to nominate candidates^ Mr. T. King proposed Colonel Trimble, and' Mr. R. Price seconded the nomination. Mr. Upjohn proposed Captain H. L. Skcet, tho nomination being seconded by Mr. Standish. ... After the candidates had addressed the electors, a show of hands was called for, which was declared by the Returning Officer to be in favour of Colonel Trimble, The Returning Officer announced that tho poll would take placo on Monday next. A vote of thanks to the Returning Ofliccr concluded the business.
