Auckland, September l. — The Native Minister proceeds to Ohinemuri, and' addressed natives in ' Paeroa last Sunday morning., He said he would take the perpptrators of the, outrage, and with that object wp.ulct. opeii roads, railways, and telegraphs from Grahamstown to Ohinemuri. While Mr. Sheehan was making his address, a number of Thames Scottish and Con* stabulary proposed proceeding to the Ngatiakahaka settlement to demand tho surrondor of tho offenders. Tukukino requested Mr. Sheehan that before doing so, a • number of natives with Mr. Piickey should first go and ask the surrender. Mr. Sheehan considered that Mr. Puokey's mission had failed. | Two of the natives, Kipiriai and Pt'ikaia, then stepped forward and said they were the natives referred to, and would not surrender. They were justified in what they had done, as 'the laud was stolen from them. They intended to kill tho half-casto, but not finding him shot tho pakeha.
