Melbourne, April 29. The retiring- Pi'eaident of the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce estimates the reduced valne last season of Victorian owned wool to bo upwards of three-quarters of a million sterliug as compared with the previous year. The partial failuro of wheat caused a loss of over a quarter of a million sterling. Mr. Sumtier was elected President. The Marquis of Normanby has beeu sworn in as Governor. Oats arc firm at <ks. lOd. Adelaide wheat is worth 4s. 10|d. Brisbane, April 29. The yield of sugar in the Logan District last year was 14,000 tons. The estimated yield for next year is 16,000 tons. Heavy rains have fallen throughout Queensland.
