Cattle Sale at Bell Block,— We would coll the attention of farmers to the cattle sale to bo held at Bell Block to-day, at two o'clock, by Messrs. Pcunington Sc lluudle. The bar has bceu shifted, and another room made at the side, near the billiard room. A door has also been opened from Queen-street, which leads into a most comfortable parlor. This room, Mr. Day has had newly furnished, and made a very coscy little apartment of. We wish the spirited proprietor every success. The New Agent for the N.Z.S.S. Company's Boats. — Mr. W. Willcocks, late purser of tho s.B, 'Wellington,' arrived here yesterday by the s.s. ' Hawea,' to tako over tho duties of agcut for the New Zealaud Steam Shipping Company. During the time Mr. Willcocks has been connected with tho Shipping Company, ho has been most obliging iv looking after our files and sending thorn ou shore ; and wo now take the opportunity of thanking him, for pilst favours. Waitara Eailway.— Tho bridge across the Waiwakaiho will bo finished, wo believe, to-day, and an engine will cross it at a late hour, it being Mr. Gwynneth's intention to commence tho ballasting from this side tomorrow. Should tho weather prove favourable, the bridges tho locomotive will havo to cross will bo finished by tho end of the week, so that it is not at all improbable that we may see tho engino ruuniug into town by tho 13th instant.
